Government Information Technology Manager
Government Information Technology Officers work closely with senior management consulting with them regarding developments in information technology services. It is imporant that they keep abreast of new developments in order to keep the information technology processes updated with the latest technology
They design and establish information technology and operational plans to support the department’s strategies.
Other duties include managing all processes, policies, regulations, standards, guidelines, practices and procedures required in the day-to-day running of the department.
They are also responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Internet and web initiatives promoting e-commerce.
Administrative duties such as planning budgets and operating costs, managing business and service level agreements, are other responsibilities of Government information technology officers.
