Congratulations on deciding to study further!
Developing our knowledge and skills is an ongoing process. We can be students at 19 or 90!
Each one of us is unique, and talented in different ways. We also have different ambitions and plans for the future. There is no right or wrong, but it’s important to choose the option that suits you best.
We are fortunate to have many different options for tertiary training in South Africa. Some people may choose to go to a university while others prefer the more hands-on approach offered by TVET colleges. Other options include on-the-job training and volunteering at an organisation that interests you.
Your student years are great for finding out more about the world and the people around you. It’s great to have fun as a student – but it’s also important take your studies seriously. Remember that it is a privilege to be educated in a world where millions of people are not so fortunate.
Use this time to lay strong foundations for your future career!
