I am studying for an LLB degree and would like to find out if I am able to practice overseas? Would I have to apply for bridging courses and how does that work? Where can I find out about bridging courses for South African LLB Law students? Please help!

Answer
Hi Christine
Every country has its own legal system and its own professional registration and examination process.
You should contact the law society in the country you want to practice in to find out what their professional requirements are.
Here is a few law association websites that might be helpful:
International Bar Association has links to the entire bar associations and law societies in the world:
http://www.ibanet.org/
Law Society of England and Wales:
http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/home.law
American Bar Association
http://www.abanet.org/
Law Council of Australia
http://www.lawcouncil.asn.au
All the best 🙂
