How do I become a Shop Assistant?

Most stores need Shop Assistants.

We suggest you approach a shop that interests you, for instance, if you love technology – approach a computer store or if you’re mad about fashion, a clothing boutique.

If you’re passionate about the product – then it’s easier to sell the goods.  Customers will then benefit from your knowledge and passion.  It makes being a Shop Assistant so much easier.

Many Shop Assistants work on a ‘commission’ basis. This means they get a small basic salary and a portion of their sales. The harder you work, the more sales you will make = the more money you will make.

Being a Shop Assistant can open many doors for you. Once you have proven you’re dependable and good at what you do, the store may send you on training courses or promote you directly. It’s one way of working your way up the retail, corporate ladder. Who knows, you may even become a Manager one day!
