Hydrologist
Water is one of the most required and beneficial minerals for humans. Hydrology is the study of water and is an interesting career.
Hydrologists study the waters of the earth and their distributiion above and below the surface and in the atmosphere.
Hydrologists aim for optimal utilisation of the country’s water resources by advising civil engineers on the flow of rivers and on where to build the most economic water schemes.
They advise design engineers on the frequency and magnitude of floods in roder to minimise flood risk and ensure the best operation procedures for flood control and drought periods. They identify underground water sources, evaluate the effect of man’s activities on water quantity and guality and study the hydrological cycle.
