What is a Moulder?
A Moulder may also be known as a Caster or Coremaker.
They usually work in a foundry which is a special place designed to handle hot metals.
A Moulder or Caster takes the molten liquid (melted metal) and pours it into casts or moulds to create specific shapes.
Moulds can be made out of sand, wax or other metals.
Once the metal has cooled, it’s then grinded, sanded and polished. Decorative treatments may be added at the end – depending what it is used for.
A Moulder or Caster can work on large industrial moulds or on tiny pieces for jewellery elements.
Some Moulders may even be Sculptors and design artistic pieces cast in bronze.
