What does a Picker Packer do?

  • reads order slips
  • finds and chooses the right products to match order
  • chooses appropriate packing materials and packaging product safely
  • fixes address and tracking labels to packaging
  • loadis and unloads trucks
  • counts inventory (stock)
  • checks that all information matches (goods in / goods out)
  • controls quality:  checking for breakages, imperfections etc

How do I become a Picker Packer?

Minimum requirements:

One does NOT need a matric. It’s advisable to have at least a Grade 10 with mathematics or maths literacy. You should be able to read and write.


If you can’t afford tertiary education, becoming a Picker Packer may be the first step to bigger and greater things.
If you show ambition and good work ethic, the company may pay for you to do further training.
