A Veterinary Technologist is a trained person who has studied Veterinary Technology.

They usually work in a laboratory.

They usually work in 3 areas:  Diagnostic, Research and Preparation.

  • tries to diagnose the cause of death or illness in an animal through scientific experiments
  • handles animals (taking blood and other samples)
  • does technical or field studies for research
  • in some cases, assists with the development of vaccines or other biological products
  • assists other senior veterinarian specialists
