What is a Voice-Over Artist?
A Voice-Over Artist is like an invisible actor or actress. They are heard, but not seen.
A Voice-Over Artist are used for:
- Selling products on the radio
- Radio acting
- Voices for animated characters in movies, tv shows, or adverts etc
- Recorded reading books for the blind
A Voice-Over Artist has to get ‘into character’ so their voice mimics the character’s emotion and personality properly. A Voice-Over Artist may use their natural voice or they may ‘put on’ a voice or accent that is specifically needed for a job.
What does a Voice-Over Artist do?
- meets with clients
- discusses the project
- reads the script / book
- does warm-up exercises for the vocal chords
- practices and ‘gets into character’
- goes to work to do the job at hand

How do I become a Voice-Over Artist?
