Q: What qualification can I get with Mathematical Literacy?
A: Here are 200 Qualifications which include either:
- No Maths Literacy needed (Entry – Grade 9) or
- Maths Literacy from 30% to 80%, (+ Entry Grades 11 to 12) required for Certificates, Diplomas and NSC for Degrees.
NOTE: These qualifications require other subjects and marks for entry. This list was created using 2019 information but educational institutions can change their Entry Requirements from year to year, so check 2020 prospectuses / student guides before applying.

- Universities use the Accumulative/Academic Point Score (APS) as well as marks in single subjects to decide on your application. The APS adds all your marks together.
- Although the minimum required mark for a course might be, for e.g. 50-59% for Maths Literacy, there are hundreds of learners competing for that one place and the University may choose higher scoring applicants. Choose more than one course to study and more than one institution to study at. And try for the very highest mark you can get to improve your chances.
