What is a Metal Fabricator?
A Metal Fabricator usually works with steel or other ferrous (iron-containing) metals.
They cut and shape metal pieces for:
- Large pieces: for bridges, ships, industrial machinery etc
- Small pieces: for bicycles, furniture, household items etc
What does a Metal Fabricator do?
- reads engineering drawings and blueprints
- uses computers as part of the fabrication process
- cuts and bends and shapes metal pieces
- uses various tools to complete piece: saws, torches etc
